The two carcasses were about thirty meters apart and both on left lateral recumbence. Both appeared to be more than ten days old. They had decomposed heavily. Only ears and part of lower limbs had been predated on. All four horns had precisely been excised from their position. Forensic samples were carefully picked.
Soft tissues had turned to thick fluid. Skin plus toe hooves were sloughing off upon touch. Maggots of all generations had heavily invaded the two carcasses. Tentative cause of death was not immediately established but due to lack of all four trophies human involvement was linked with the deaths.
